This is another bowl that I made before the fire happened. The outside of the bowl I dripped the brown glaze, shadow green and black. Then on the inside I did a base coat of the scrap glaze and dripped the lighter blue over it. On the outside I covered the whole thing with the clear glaze to give it that glossy clean look.
This is my bowl I glazed the day that the fire happened. On the smaller bowl I carved in a flower and used the under glazes Tuxedo, Purple Haze and the green. I used the black glaze and reversed dripped the black glaze one day and the white glaze over it the next day.
This is my set of three. All three of them are made out of the red clay which I love to work with now due to the fact that it is softer and the color is so pretty once it is clear glazed. On the plate I made I used glass fir the first time to give it some sort of a natural looks and on the two bowls I did a quick little glazing job with the shadow green which also gave it somewhat of a natural look.
This is my plate number 2 I took a balled pin tool and carved a little design in it and I used the scrap glaze to detail the design then I use the white glaze and covered the whole entire plate.
This is my first plate that I made. To glaze it I did a bottom coat of clear and then I took the rubber brush and painted randomly over the top with the green glaze.
This is another bowl that I made using the red clay. This was my first project that I used red clay with to make. Before setting is on the Bisque shelf I used a rounded pin tool to carve the little swirl designs on the outer lip. I used the Sour Apple Green to make the little designs stand out more then I used the clear glaze to give it a glossy, more finished look. To make the shape of the bowl, while pulling up I moved my outer hand faster than my inner hand to curve it and give it a unique, curved shape.
This is my tall project. I made it with the Vashon White Clay. The little theme of this project is Spring. On the outside I used the Candy Apple Red paint to detail the flowers on one side and the other side I used the Tuxedo Black paint to balance out the light and dark colors on the vase. Then I wrote 'Spring' on the side with the Sour Apple Green paint. I then covered the vase with clear glaze.
This right here is the first bowl that I made since one year of ceramics on the wheel. On the inside the glaze I used was the blue on the inside and on the outside I sponged the outside with the dark blue and put a clear glaze over it. When making it on the wheel I started with a regular cylinder then used my rubber rib tool and slowly widened it from the base to the edge. After stopping the wheel I used my hands to shape the lip differently to make it unique so I can tell it differently from the rest of the bowls that the other advanced students made as well as myself.
